Welcome to Sherpa Encounters trekking and cultural tours. Experience the Himalayas on your own terms with our expert help. Our treks are designed for a first encounter experience. Walk in the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary and discover why he was so impressed with the Sherpa people and dedicated his life’s work to improving their lot. The scenery, the culture and to gaze upon Everest up close, are an added bonus to visiting with the Sherpa people of Nepal.
If you have always dreamed of going to Nepal and Everest, then you have the qualifications to go. Our treks are designed for a wide range of physical abilities and age. Treks include the Sherpa Joe trek, as we like to call it, which is designed for anyone with the will to do it and our longer three-in-one trek which includes several trekking peaks and high mountain passes in one package.
Our treks are not a forced march, nor do we herd our guests around like cattle. Each trek has a fully trained and experienced Himalayan group leader equipped with all safety and first aid equipment, including a portable hyperbaric chamber, medical O2, satellite phones as well as the training and knowledge to use the equipment to our trekkers advantage. Our Sherpa guides are born, raised and live in the Himalayas and have done the trek, literally hundreds and hundreds of times.
Enjoy the high altitude of the Solu-khumbu with a sense of balance between the accomplishment of such an undertaking with the safety of traveling with a competent and well equipped group.
