As a retired Captain of the Burnaby Fire Dept in British Columbia, his first-responder skills combined with his technical experience as a high-angle rope rescue instructor lends itself well to leading trekking groups. As a cycle tourist and team leader for Canadian Olympic Wrestling Team from 2001-2008 he is an active outdoors enthusiast and organizer of group events. Over the past few years these passions and skills have led to the successful completion leading seven guided treks to the Khumbu and establishment of very close business and personal relationships with Sherpa families, guides and tea-house operators.

Our Sherpa guides have a Nepal Tourism Class A guides license. Our head guide, Kami Nuru Sherpa, was born and raised in Ghat Village, Solokhumbu and has been a guide for 12 years. His intimate knowledge of the Khumbu and all things relating to the effects of AMS coupled with his genuine caring and compassion for his fellow man make him one of the best guide in Nepal.

Sarah has completed 4 treks in the Himalayas. She is a graduate of Simon Fraser University with a science degree and wrestled for the SFU Varsity team for five years. During that time she garnered four Canadian Championships, a World Silver medal in Turkey in 2003 and a World University Bronze medal in 2006 in Mongolia. She has cycled across Canada and had a lifelong passion for the mountains and outdoors. In the trekking off season she has been working in the far North as a first aid attendant in the mining exploration sector. She is extremely qualified as a trek leader and is loved by the Sherpa people of Nepal. |
